GPA: 4.095/4.33
(School does not weight AP/Honors courses)
Grade: Junior
Class Rank: 11/222 (5%) Started Junior year at 22nd, worked hard to get it down to 11 after 3 terms and will hopefully end up somewhere in the top ten.

AP Classes: Biology, Calculus AB (Junior)
Calculus BC, Physics, Chemistry, Psychology (Senior)

ACT: 28 Will be retaking until I get at least a 30, hopefully a 31. Did not do very well on first try.
ACT Writing: 9 Will be going for a 10. Unlikely but worth a shot.

ECs:

4 years Swim Team (varsity) Also guaranteed captain senior year
2 years NHS member
2 years Debate Club
2 years academic promotion team (reference to school in name of committee)
volunteer during summers at local hospital
lifeguard at local pool
donate blood regularly (don't know if this means anything, worth a try lol)

Throughout high school I have taken mostly math and science courses. By the time I graduate I will have taken 10 credits of science classes (out of 32 total credits) and 5 credits of math. Because of this I've been lacking in social studies. I will have only taken 3 credits of social studies, the minimum amount required for graduation. Will this affect my chances?

Definitely not the most stellar of applicants. During my freshman and sophomore years my grades were decent (All As except for a B in Algebra 2). At the beginning of my Junior I began to take more rigorous classes, and have so far earned mostly A+s and a few As. Even with my increasingly rigorous schedule I've managed to achieve better grades than when I took easier classes. Will colleges take notice of this? I think it's also worth noting that I'm taking all of the hardest classes offered by my school senior year.

Writing essays is also a strong point for me, so I will hopefully be able to write an excellent essay for my applications.

Schools I'm looking to apply to:

Northwestern University
University of Chicago
University of Pennsylvania
Brown University
University of Minnesota - Twin Cities
University of Wisconsin - Madison
University of Michigan - Ann Arbor

I plan on majoring in Biochemistry and eventually going on to medical school.
