I apologize if there are any mistakes here, but this is my first post to CC. I appreciate you guys! Thanks.
yeah looking good for all of these, wouldn’t call them admits but you really can’t improve much more
RSI, IMO awards, Siemens, and perfect test scores…you could probably submit a blank application and still get in lol
You are an unhooked applicant but your profile is basically perfect. With great essays I could see you getting into many of these schools
Without any inside information, you (and anyone else other than possibly relatives of huge donors) should consider all of these to be reaches.
Apply to all - expect less than 100% acceptance. Unfortunately, there are a lot of really smart kids out there with unimpeachable resumes vying for a finite number of spots at top schools. You will get in somewhere great. Just make sure your essays make you stand out because you really don’t have any hooks.
Nice achievements! I’m pretty sure you’ll get into multiple. I know that some universities have turned down numerous IMO, IOI, IPhO, IChO etc etc gold medalists, so admittance is never a sure thing, but you certainly stand a very good chance :-).
Looks very likely - test scores and ECs are all great.
Are you currently a junior or a senior? This might impact whether your 2018 summer plans are factored in.
Since it appears that you’re OOS, can you afford Berkeley?
What are your safeties? You have the Siemens and IMO medals which theoretically MIT should like, however you are in the demographic which is the kiss of death for most applicants (the dreaded Asian male). Better chance than most because of the national/international level recognition, but stranger things have happened.
@Hamurtle
I can (thankfully) afford Berkeley. The other schools to which I am applying for are:
NYU
UMichigan
Rice
Georgia Tech
UCLA
UT-Austin
University of Washington
Princeton
Admitted to UMichigan, Princeton through EA
OK, since you have the Princeton acceptance, go for that.
