Hey everyone, this is my first ever post on this site. Already applied but chance me anyways?
SAT: 750 Reading, 800 Math, 750 Writing, 2300 Total
SAT 2 (Terrible, will be retaking): 690 US History, 700 Math 2
GPA: 3.8ish/4.243
Rank: Top 6% Kinda worried 'bout my rank
Didn't send any AP scores but have taken 9 AP classes (Bombed the tests but got all A's in class lol)
No Major Awards (congressional certificate of special recognition but that's it)

ECs (my strong point I think)
Varsity Golf Team Captain, won county individuals, led team to first section title in 12 years
Board of Directors of regional sect nationally recognized nonprofit (Circles USA)
President of Advisory Board of regional sect of nationally recognized nonprofit (First Tee)
First Chair and Concertmaster of HS symphony orchestra
Competitive bodybuilder and personal trainer (taking classes right now)
President of city-wide leadership and service committee
President of Key Club/Community Service Club
President of FBLA

You wanted brutally honest opinions, well here is the verdict. Both are high reaches even with superb essays as your math level 2 score is low for wharton (places heavy emphasis on math) and you took 9 AP classes yet didn’t report any scores. colleges will just correctly assume that you bombed out on the actual exam which hurts your application. No major achievements I.e. AIME or USAMO qualifier leads to your application being mediocre at best amongst the competitive application pool at both schools.

I don’t think you’ll need the AIME or USAMO for your application, as long as you’re not applying to MIT or Caltech, especially if your school doesn’t offer the test. You have a fairly high SAT, but low SAT II’s. Don’t be worried about your rank. Your EC’s are alright. If you submit your supplementary well, there’s a good chance for UChicago, but it’s a crapshoot at those colleges, so I’d say reach for all of those colleges.

Do you have any national awards regarding bodybuilding that you can highlight? This is quite an unusual EC and will catch their attention. The rest of your profile looks fairly standard for an Asian, so this might help you stand out.

You wanted brutally honest so here it is: You are the president of a lot of clubs. Colleges can see this two ways: a) you are a strong leader or b) you’ve spread yourself too thin. Also, if you bombed ur AP exams. Do u mean like bombed (1s and 2s) or like low-passed (3s)? If you got low scores on the exams but got A’s in the classes, the colleges might just assume that the class was easy. The tests are standard. The classes are not. Also, I agree with sgopal2, ur app looks pretty standard. Do you have any hooks? Anything super special that no one else has? I would say that you have a good chance (high SAT and GPA) but no guarantees. Wharton is extremely selective. good luck!

Bro, this is going to be brutally honest. I looked on about.com and it said that you need over a 2100 and a decent gpa so you good man. Keep doin what ur doin. Don’t stress, don’t stress, don’t stress, girl you deserve nothing but the best. THATS RIGHT U FINE add me on kik

Actually, I don’t think your app looks “average” at all.

Captain of a varsity sports team

President of youth advisory committee

Leading two non-profits

These are extracurriculars that not a lot of applicants are able to accomplish, and will definitely differentiate you from the others. The math SAT II is definitely low - get it above 750.
