Chance me UVA, William and Mary.Bland subject tests

Hi everyone.
Pre-admission season is making me antsy, I think UVA and W&M could be targets for me, provided that I fill in some gaps, which I hope you guys can help me with.

To begin, I'm a rising senior in southeastern VA (we've been getting a lot of flak for our academics, or lack of, lately), I'm male, half Filipino, half caucasian, mid-high income.

GPA: W- 4.45ish after junior year/UW- should be around 3.9

Rank: about 15/300+ (very competitive top %25 this year)

SAT: 2130 total/1430 CRM, 760 CR, 670 M, 700 W first go, I'm planing on getting the math score up

SAT IIs: 650 Spanish/660 Math II/720 USH, These went way over my head, I was not prepared at all for them. I was far to slow for the math, answered about 34/50 questions... and I underestimated the length of the Spanish test (took it on a whim last minute) running out with 10 questions unanswered.

Classes (10 APs total with senior year, looking at 3s, 4s and possibly one or two 5s -AP lang/APUSH -on upcoming AP scores):
-Math- Honors up to AP Calc AB, all As but B+ in Calc, AP Calc BC next year
-English- Honors up to AP lang, all As, A- first semester lang, A second, AP lit next year
-Science- Honors bio and chem, AP Bio, all As, AP Physics next year
-History- Honors up to AP Human Geo (4 on exam) and APUSH, all As, AP Gov next year
-Electives- Spanish 1-4 and AP (not native speaker), Regular orchestra grades 5-11 often top 2 chairs, intro to art, SAT Prep, As, A- first semester AP Spanish, A second semester, sculpting and music theory next year.

ECs (Not much depth :/ sorry if I'm listing too much):
-AAA Varsity Swimming, made State Championships (on relays) in grades 10, 11, and likely 12, 2 school records (on relays, most competitive school in district), 5-10 total years VBSL Summer swim league
-Old Dominion University Community Music Division piano lessons for 7-9 years (self-motivated)
-NHS/JNHS all years
-Spanish Honor Society all years
-Annual family-organized 100+ mile charity bike ride for Rock spring Congregational Church music program
-Recreational weightlifting 2-3 years
-No jobs :/

-Essays- I have no worries about them, writing is one of my stronger suits, at least when it's not timed haha
- Recommendations- I have no idea really. My teachers respect me, but I haven't developed any really meaningful relationships with them.

-Final Thoughts- I want to improve my math score on the SAT, but the SAT IIs are my biggest concern. I'm also wondering if it's worth it for me to apply to an out-of-state reach. For further reference, I plan on applying to Mary Washington, JMU, and V Tech also.

Southeastern VA is an advantage for W&M and UVA…

UMW: Safety
W&M: Match
UVA: Match
VA Tech: Low match
JMU: Safety

I think you could get into UVA, don’t worry about jobs you don’t need everything on your app, but try to find something that really defines you, what about you is unique, and try to really make it come out on your app through your essay! Good luck!

If you could check out my post & help that would be awesome  thanks!

You should be competitive at all the state schools. No guarantees, of course, and you should definitely interview at all the ones you are interested in. And no reason not to try for an OOS reach – you never know until you try!

why not try unc

Thanks guys. Two questions, Is interviewing crucial? I’m not great when it comes to small talk. Also, should I report/retake any of those subj tests?
@courage123, Sorry I know little about admissions and less about international student admissions, my only advice would be to up your SAT score as the colleges you mentioned reject lots of high scorers from what I’ve gathered.

Bump. Also anyone have any advice on scholarships?

Bump. Is there anything particular I have to do to actually bump the post other than saying bump? I’m not sure it did anything the first time
