I know this is rather long but I'm awful nervous about this and I wanted as complete of a list I could give! Please chance!

I think you have a great shot! Also if you feel you could retake the history subject test and get an 800, that wouldn’t hurt!

Very good academics give you a good shot. Will you apply ED? What State do you live in? Put in extra effort to show WashU that they are your first choice. Best of luck to you!

I was definitely thinking about retaking! I got an A in APUSH and got much higher scores when I took practice tests. I would say I could definitely get a 750+. I just wanted to know if it was worth all the effort since I’m kind of out of touch with the subject now and would have study immensely hard.

I will apply ED and live in the MidWest so I’m closer than most to Wash U. I definitely want to indicate to Them that they are my first choice!

If you don’t already know the name of the Wash U admissions rep/recruiter who covers your HS, you may wish to email the Admissions Office, tell them of your interest in Wash U and ask for the name and contact info. Then contact the rep directly and let him/her know of your interest and ask if you can stop by to introduce yourself next time you visit campus. Ask if she/he has plans to visit your school in the fall. Being proactive in this effort to get to know people at Wash U is a great way to demonstrate that your interest is genuine, which goes a long way–especially for ED consideration. This starts a dialog. For example, in my DD’s case the request resulted in an on-campus interview, several emails back and forth, and another meeting when the rep visited my DD’s high school. A nice relationship resulted. When my daughter was accepted, she received a handwritten note from the rep saying how happy she was. My DD, like most kids, was concerned at first that making unsolicited contact with the Admissions office and asking for a name and contact info would seem “creepy” and “stalkerish”. However, she found the Admissions folks at Wash U to be VERY approachable, so don’t be shy.

Thanks @foursite! I have already visited Wash U once but will consider revisiting and meeting my admissions rep, also since I forgot to mention I will chance back if you chance me! Just leave your link and I’ll get to it ASAP!

Academics, testing, and extracurricular a are great! You are without a doubt competitive in that sense. It’s really up to your common app essay and demonstrated interest to shine (Thank God they don’t have a supplement!). I’d say visit and do the optional interview. I did it coming from the east coast and the officer I spoke to was impressed I would take the burden to travel all the way out to see them. Demonstrated interest is a must for them and its one of the few ways you could greatly benefit your chances of getting in. Good luck and thanks for the chance!!!

Academics, testing, and extracurricular are definitely in your favor! I think that you will be competitive at all of these schools. The problem is that nothing is 100 percent certain, until it happens.
