Had to assume responsibility in family at an early age as my mother got in a severe car crash my freshman year and I really had to step up and take a lot more responsibility. Juggled school with extracurriculars while also helping out a lot more at home. (Don’t mean to milk this, but it was a really hard time in my life and feel like colleges should know of it)

Considering that my parents would be able to pay, please chance me at the following schools

  1. Washington University
  2. Northwestern
  3. University of California-San Diego
  4. University of California-Los Angeles
  5. University of California-Berkely
  6. Univeristy of Texas-Austin
  7. University of Texas-Dallas
  8. Texas A&M University
  9. Rice University
  10. Carnegie Melon
  11. Duke
  12. SMU

Class rank? Major?

As previously mentioned in your other post, the UCs will not fund you as an OOS student. Don’t apply if you really cannot afford the schools.

If you’re in the top 10% of your class, UTD and TAMU will give you auto admission. I think TAMU and UTD are good matches for you, if not safeties even disregarding your class rank. UT is a bit tougher, but will give you auto admission if you are roughly in the top 7% of your class.

Smu I would look into the hunt scholarship also they should give some good money for your scores. Will be close to home but it always feels separate would definitely apply
