<p>Hi, I am a white male from Illinois and I'm really interested in Cornell. However, my stats are not good enough to call it anything but a reach so I need to see where I'm at for other schools. </p>
<p>Also I plan on going into to economics or business at these schools. </p>
<p>My stats:
3.65 UW 3.9 W GPA
32 ACT (E:30 M:34 R:35 S:28)
Have not taken subject tests (will in fall) but I think I will do good in math and reading</p>
<p>EC's: Track and field 3 years (varsity)
Cross country 3 years (varsity, team goes to nationals regularly)
Student Council (no position tho, running takes too much time :()
Lacrosse 1 year
50+ volunteer hours
Top 3 in state for three categories in film (major hobby)</p>
<p>Income: <100,000
School is one of the strongest in the country. </p>
<p>Schools I'm applying to:
Cornell ED (do I have enough of a shot to apply for ED?)
University of Illinois urbana
Indiana U
Minnesota </p>
<p>Also, if there are any other good econ/business programs that I didn't list can you please recommend them to me? I'm still very open to where I am applying to.</p>
<p>You seem to have a reasonable chance at Cornell. Your ACT is one point above their last years average, and your ec’s look alright/good (especially the film!). Although you go to a rigorous school, your GPA could be better. What is percentile range are you in? 89% of Cornellians are from the top 10%.</p>
<p>Thanks for the reply! And my school doesn’t rank but does that mean it still does percentile? If so, I believe I am 10-15%. Hopefully that doesn’t get submitted</p>
<p>My school doesn’t rank either and I’m going ED here too. Rank won’t show (thank god) if school doesn’t report it. They’ll show whatever describes your performance compared to the rest of your class.</p>

<p>I think you have a fair chance at Cornell. You should consider retaking the ACT just to give you an extra edge as well as the Subject Tests. Your film EC is very good and you seem dedicated to sports. How is your course load? Have you taken any AP/IB exams? If you are willing to drop everything to go to Cornell if you get accepted, you should apply ED. I’m thinking of applying ED to Cornell as well (right now it’s my top choice and I’ll definitely be applying regular decision at least) so I hope you get in! You have a great shot at the other schools you mentioned.</p>
<p>As long as you bring your GPA up, I think you have a fair shot at Cornell. I think you can definitley get into the rest of the schools on your list</p>
