chance me? will chance back!

<p>As most of the other people said, your ecs are seriously phenomenal, and the best part about them is, they show passion and motivation. They show how truly interested you are in them, that you’re not just doing it for college. But even if you weren’t applying ED to brown, I would say you have the best chance of getting in there, and I’m sure you can handle the essays creatively and wonderfully in general. The ED is great, and you really seem like you would fit in and enjoy Brown a lot, so I would say you have a very high chance there, definitely a target.
georgetown - target
amherst - target
johns hopkins - low reach
columbia - low reach
tufts - low target
usc - safety/low target
northwestern - target
uchicago - target
cornell - target</p>

<p>wow! thank you guys! that was a lot more positive than i expected, haha.</p>

<p>brown ed don’t really know.
georgetown MATCH if you early decision. yeah, legacy compensates for your low-ish GPA. SAT are lower quartile. Class Rank kills you (10 out of 75, right). 95% at Georgetown were in top 10%.
Amherst. You mean UMass, right? GPA and SAT are low. Not too sure.
johns Hopkins REACH. Hmm. this place is pretty competitive, MIGHT get in, like lower 20%, but I don’t think you’d want that, right?
Columbia REACH even though you have a student connection, unless the student knows teachers and the admission, not too good. But again ur EC’s might help out.
tufts Idk about this,
usc slight reach. U got the money, SAT’s match. But from what I’ve heard, they really like legacy, so idk? Maybe ur myriad of EC’s might be the kicker.
northwestern. don’t know.
uchicago don’t know.
cornell. Academics killed you. If you can raise ur UW GPA to at least 3.8 by the time you apply, and get 2200+ on SAT, ur EC’s might help you out.</p>

<p>Advice:
Your EC’s are way too many! haha lol jk. Im jsut saying here, unless the EC corresponds to ur intended major, don’t list it, UNLESS, you have spent more than 4years with it, got a nationally recognized prize, or you are in leadership position.
On EC’s colleges like:
Junior Varsity into Varsity, and perhaps even captain.
Music (Choir/Instrumental) : Solos, 1st to 2nd chairs, only player of instrument/ range.
Community Service, specific service for over 200 hours
Clubs/Societies 4 years in highschool with positions beside membership.</p>

<p>Gotta improve ur GPA bro. With a 3.7 and below, most of the Ivies will not even look beyond that for your EC’s.
The admission process goes like this.
Board looks at first page of all applications. Sort it by GPA/SATs. For example, say that an applications with less than a 3.7 UW and <1900 SAT is tossed out, instant DENIED ADMISSION. Then onto the rest of applications. The ones with high GPA but low SAT’s they look at why. Look through EC’s letters of rec, etc. Same with low GPA, high SAT’s. Grant them either waitlist, or denied admission. Then the ones that passed, with 3.7+ UW and 1900+ SAT, they look through EC’s letters of rec. If an application doesn’t have a lot of leadership/ EC’s might be tossed out. 3rd round! Board members read individual personal statements. Then they argue, bicker, and fight each other to the death to grant admission or waitlist. It’s much more complicated, and there are other factors. But the main point of this is to point out that public universities, and non-liberal colleges look at your academics first before anything else.</p>

<p>^georgetown doesn’t have ed… only rea. :(</p>
