Your ECs are very impressive however I feel your GPA and ACT score will not make you overly competitive at the most selective schools on your list. Impressive ECs will only compensate so much for less than competitive GPA and test scores.

Very stong ECs. Great chances at the California schools. USC, Penn State, UMiami are targets. Vanderbilt, Georgetown, Rice, and Northwestern are mid-reaches and the rest (Duke,Columbia, etc) are reaches.

hmm…I thought a 31 would be good enough. Should I retake the ACTs then? My GPA was low due to family circumstances during freshman year. Would that have an impact on colleges?

Great EC’s, but GPA and ACT are nothing special. I can only speak about the UC’s but definitely write about your family situation in your essays and I think you’ve a good chance for UCSD and Davis. Berkeley and LA are still reaches, though. What about SAT’s? If you can get the fees waived and you’re confident you’ll do well on them, it’s a very good idea to take them. Just be aware that this late in the game, if you report you will be taking the SAT’s the scores will be sent to the schools automatically.

EOP doesn’t make a difference for Columbia or Cornell? I was told it gives a better chance for admissions o_o

Pretty solid ECs and I feel like your ACTs are fine for the schools you’re looking at. They won’t make you look extremely competitive, but I’d say they probaly okay. I think you should be okay with the California schools, Binghamton, and Penn State, then USC, UMiami, OSU, and Georgetown are targets. Vanderbilt, Rice, UVA, and Northwestern are probably mid reaches, then the ivies + WUSTL, Duke, & Stanford are likely high reaches.
