bump buump

You definitely have a great chance at both! A girl in my school with lower stats and equal ecs got in U of C

Best of luck!

thanks for your input!

bump? =/ =/

bump =/ =/

anyone? =/

Columbia is a reach, but I think you have a chance at Chicago if you can get good recs/personal essays

thanks for the input!

I would say if you end up being ranked in the top 5 percent, your chances are excellent. You show a large passion for film and I think that will help. Also, your test scores are quite good as well. So, I would call Columbia a reach and U of C a match for you! :)

thanks for the input!

buuump bump

I like your SAT but again as mentioned, your GPA will hurt

thanks for the input!
are you thinking it will hurt quite a lot?

For those schools it may but advanced classes help counteract it. The more important things are Class Rank and comparison to the top students at your school(included on counselor rec). Mind chancing me back? I’m a bit lower down on this forum.

I’ll defenitly chance back!

For anyone else who sees the thread, I think I’ll do a lot better on the ACT - just because it’s a lot shorter, and by the time I got about 2 hours and a 1/2 into the SAT I just started to get frustrated and really couldn’t sit/think for much longer.
Would a 2200 SAT score or 33 ACT score look better? Or does it not matter?
How about a 2200 SAT vs 35 ACT?
For some reason, I get this notion that the SAT is seen as harder. Anyone care to confirm or disagree?

Your SAT is really good, but GPA is low and so are your ec’s. I’d say you have a pretty good chance of getting in

thanks for your input, ishanz. I’ll chance you!

Despite some arguements I would say a 2200 would equal a 34ish so I’d take that one

I’ve recently been looking at John Hopkins Film + Media Studies programming, I’m assuming it’s a reach. If any one would like to chance me for John Hopkins as well, that would be appreciated.

If there are no AP classes at your school, take community college classes. But your high rank shows that you did all you could at your school and your SAT is pretty good. Then again, your GPA is kind of low. Tell us more about your school. That’s rather odd that there’s no AP classes.

SAT IIs?

Quite honestly, your EC’s are good but not amazing. They don’t make up for your lack of curriculum and mediocre GPA. If you happened to rack up some film awards or went to film camp or something between now and Jan. 1, you might have a chance at some other American schools, but I don’t see Chicago or Columbia in the mix. NYU might be a good choice, especially considering you’re going into film.

Thanks for the rate.
