If you could chance me, I'd greatly appreciate it.
I'm thinking it is probably a big reach, but I'm not totally sure.

I just applied today (after EA--decreased chances)

I would say no, but only because of you lower GPA. You never know what will happen though! :)

I wouldn’t say no :O

i’d say reach because of the GPA and if your school does indeed report ranking.

ECs look really solid though so you never know. Sit back and hope for the best but don’t get too attached because I’m sure you’ll end up at a respected school.

Don’t think you don’t have a chance. My d got in last year (heard back in November) w/ a 3.7 w and a 3.5 u/w gpa. Not sure what percentile but wasn’t in the top 10% of a competitive public high school. ACT was 33, SAT IIs were 750 Math II and 710 Lit and had decent (although not an overwhelming amount) ecs and community service.

Think positively and good luck.

To the OP

My sister got in last year with a 3.55, not top 10%, pretty good but not spectacular ECs. Great essays and recs though. 2000 on her SAT. OOS. For some perspective.

where did she get in? is that 3.55 unweighted? anything else that will help pls! thnks

Yeah it’s unweighted. Other places she got in include BU, Drexel, Miami (FL), Fordham, and some other places I don’t remember. Rejected from Penn Amherst and Northwestern. Her SAT was 660 CR 590 M and 750 W. Don’t really remember much else. Apparently her essay was great, because her English teacher (who I have this year) loves to remind me how her essay was one of the best she’s read.

3.5 uw is low but 4.1w is pretty good( for my school)

they may consider the weight of your schedule

those are all great schools… :))
thats great (about the essay) do u happen to know waht she wrote it on?

Thanks for all the responses guys! I really appreciate it!
