How can you be both a football and cross-country team captain? They’re both during the same season. Same with track and volleyball.</p>
<p>Plus, your EC list is a laundry list, there is only 24 hours a day, adcoms will see that your BSing.</p>

No one from orlando won it in 2010 either. No native americans won it in either 2010 or 2009. (I checked my last name.) They were all white, asian, one AA. Your lying.</p>

<p>Well, XC captain status was a popularity contest, and its not that hard. The 3.85 is my Cumulative GPA, and the current 4.0 is my current Junior year GPA… Volleyball I am doing this year, and track I did in 10th grade. Football I did in 9th grade, and XC in 10th. No I am not a ■■■■■.!!!</p>
<p>Yes you are. No one graduate’s suma cum laude with a 3.85. Well then how did you make team captain in varsity football in 11th grade and what about the presidential award?</p>
<p>When I graduate I will scan my degree and personally send it to you. The Presidential award I received at the beginning of Junior year. Where does it say I made Varsity Football in 11th grade? I only played ONE year of football, in 9th grade, we sucked we were 3 and 8 and missed playoffs. Then I transfered schools and the current school I go to the football team is AMAZING so I had no shot, I tried out but got cut in the 2nd round. Currently we have the top ranked graduating class for Football in the country 6 of the top 50 players in the country are graduating from my HS and going to Alabama, Florida, and USC and if you watch college football thats BIG. So I decided to try some other sports and I made it. Then this year I am only playing volleyball and focusing more of my time on academic EC’s like NHS, and NTHS, NEHS, and etc…</p>
<p>IF you read what I had typed clearly IF I keep my current 4.0 then it would bring my unweighted GPA to a 3.95 and then IF I can keep it up Senior year I will have a 3.98 and giving me Summa Cum Laude.</p>
<p>You want to see the award? I have a pin that goes along with it, and the presidential award is a state award. It is awarded to the top 5 kids in Florida.</p>
<p>Why the hell would I PM you my name? I don’t know who you are. You could be an adcomm for all I know. It is is called College CONFIDENTIAL for a reason.</p>
<p>They way you talk about you EC’s and the your involvement shows a true laundry list, and I don’t see a passion. If a 18 yr old high school senior can poin this out, an experienced college admissions officer will see this in a second. How much Native american are you? Seems like you just want the hook? do you have citizenship with a tribe or some proof? Overall, its an obivious feel that your trying too hard. Anyone could notice this.
^nobody cares if you do academic EC’s or sports or community service, so long as you show the DEDICATION to it, and maybe win some awards, win leadership, etc. The fact that you got so many leadership positions 9th and 10th grade probably diminishes the reputation of all your school leadership positions. This is why I don’t like how adcoms care so much about school leadership positions (do they?). Every high school is different.
Study hard for ACT/SAT/SAT II’s and do well in them. Hopefully your schedule rigor is very good, as that is the most important thing of your app. But your URM status will make up for your laundry list, if you can get good scores. If so, good chances everywhere.</p>
