Chance me! :)

I want to apply to at least one ivy and this is my favorite but I just want to know if I have any chance of getting in. Here are my stats:
3.7 UW 3.9 W GPA
32 ACT
No rank

EC's:
Track and XC 4 years
Student Council
Track and XC leadership award
Various intramurals
Other smalls clubs
50 volunteer hours
Top 3 in state for video production, directing, editing, etc.
Job experience

Also have great teacher recs and I'm great at writing essays.

So yes, I know I don't have much of a chance, but do I have enough of a shot for it to be worth applying? And I don't get offended easily so be harsh if you wish.

Your stats are right about the mean for Cornell acceptances. You have a chance, whether you get admitted will depend on your essays, recommendations, and a bit of luck.

The only posible negative that jumps out is the 3.7 unweighted and the 3.9 weighted. I don’t know how your school does weighting, that spread seems a bit tight. Was your schedule mostly honors and AP?

That is what I think is the problem. I only took half honors/ap and rest are regular. However, my school of 4400 people is one of the hardest in the state/country so nothing is an easy A. Hopefully they consider that but do you think not having a very rigorous schedule is bad?

This is what admissions page for College of Human Ecology says… “We are looking for Outstanding record of achievement in a rigorous high school curriculum”… obviously if you are in competetion with other students of similar “stats” they have an advantage if they took the most rigorous schedule their school offers.

If you go to a top HS your guidance counselor should be able to give you some perspective on what kind of stats recent Cornell admits from your HS have had.

We have pretty similar stats so I say that you have a chance dependent on your recs, essays, and AP and honors courses! I’m applying ED CAS (possibly)! How about you?

hmmmm

i think u have a good shot at Cornell CAS, and others, just not college of engineering

chance me! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cornell-university/1174744-chance-me-please.html

Your unweighted gpa is alright…but your weighted seems awfully low. Although you seem to have good test scores, your weighted gpa and unweighted gpa may really affect you when applying anywhere. If you had the opportunity to take more challenging courses, cornell will see it and no matter “how hard it is to get an A”, they will see that you did not challenge yourself to a maximum level. Therefore i’d give you a 40 % chance
