Chances at Ohio U.

Race: African Americam
Gender: Male
Location: Suburbs out side of Detroit, Michigan

Education: I am going to be entering my junior year of high school this fall (2011), and I am currently looking at Ohio University for school because of its size, location, and its academic reputation. I have gotten a 3.3 (3.28) every semester other than first semester of freshman year. I have a uw gpa of a 3.14, and will take the ACT in the next few months. This year is of high school is the year colleges look at the most, even Ohio university's web site sais that they really look at a students junior year of high school. I know I still need to get my gpa up, but here is what I have done outside of the classroom.

Community & Service:

Have over 140 hours of community service hours working with kids over the summer at a camp.

Every year I go with my church to work at a soup kitchen for the day.

School Activities:

Played on the school's basketball and soccer last two years. (Hope to continue playing)

On the schools award winning high school radio station. (Had my own weekly show)

Was in the schools production of Hairspray and Phantom of the Opera.

Work:

Baseball umpire for little league games in the past.

I am from the state of Michigan and would be a out of state student. I was wondering what should still do to try to get into Ohio; my interest are the school of business and Scripps. (know I need to get gpa up to get into both)

Any help from people who have gotten into OU or parents whose kids have gotten in, just to give me an idea what I need to do junior year to help my chances whether it be with my gpa, extracurricular, etc...
