I set up security systems and fix whatever(electrical wiring, computers, blah) for the poor(widows and the like).
I don't have any big nation-wide awards, olympiads, etc.

Well, I think you are in the ballpark. The SAT subject test scores are very good. Work hard on your essay and pick good teachers for letters of rec. Get to know your guidance counselor.

Don’t talk about pot on your college app, stupid.

You’ll probably be fine, even if you did have one semester with lowish grades, your overall is good enough and your ACT is at the 75th percentile. Rural and low income might be (very) small boosts as well.

I’m sure you’ll fit in with 90% of south campus.

Hell yes! Lol I’m pretty excited.
Is it more beneficial to submit SAT I scores than ACT scores if I have a higher crit. reading + math (incremental) even with a ridiculously low writing score?

I think you have a good chance. My brother had a much lower GPA, like a 3.3 unweighted, but he got in. However, he did have nearly perfect test scores. He also interviewed at Grinnell twice. If you show interest, that will help a lot I think. We’re from Washington as well, although not a very rural part of Washington.

I think south campus is where the “hippies” hang out. Is that where Mary B James dorm is? North campus maybe the “jocks”? That’s where the athletic fields and gyms are.
