Chance me?

Going for the bachelor's in Psychology (not neuroscience)

Stats:
- 26 yo
- 4 1/2 yrs enlisted Army
- Done some community college since I've been in. Dropped an english class and a math class do to scheduling conflicts. Did a government class and a sociology class, got Bs in both.

Failed out of community college in like '06, got like 6 Fs.

If there's an application essay I'd probably nail it. I can explain my past failure and I'm pretty confident I'm ready for school this time around.

Don't worry about hurting my feelings. I'm planning on doing community college for a while, but I'm thinking about applying to a university in spite of my shoddy record.

Also: Are you allowed to apply as a freshman if you've already completed some college? That might help, though my high school performance wasn't much better (1.82 gpa.)

Thanks all!

the answer to that is yes–i live in colorado and my dad is currently doing the same thing, though since you have complete prior schooling, they will most likely admit you as a sophomore or a junior.

Your chances of getting in are pretty good i’d say, so dont stress too much about it. just explain explain explain about your circumstances before and you’ll be accepted in a heartbeat.

Thanks for the response, Ivy! I’d like to go to Boulder but I’m not averse to spending some time at community college and I’m looking at other schools to apply to as a sophomore or junior transfer so I’m not really worried.

I would like to think that US colleges will take your military record into account and accept you with no problem. Community College credits may or may not be accepted.
