Chance me ?

What are my chances of getting into Cornell, Colgate, Colorado College, and Bates?

I have a 4.38 GPA, but it will go up this semester because I'm in 6 honors classes. My unweighted is 3.94.

Unweighted: top 5%
Weighted: top 10%

My SAT is 1980

I am the VP of my school's health professionals' club and the secretary of the Psychology Club.

11 years competitive soccer, 2 years varsity (freshman and sophomore) with a state championship for high school and 3 state championships for club.

7 years in orchestra.

I understand these are reach schools, they are not the only ones I'm applying to. I was just wondering what my chances were at each. Thank you!

Hey dude, if you could just give me one last piece of information about which school you’re applying to. Seeing Colgate makes me wanna think you’re applying to CAS, and I’d say you have decent chances of getting in.

I see you have sports, which is always a bonus, especially because it shows diversity in your as an individual. Not only that but winning a state championship shows real commitment. Also, does the health professionals’ club indicate a desire to go premed? Fair warning, we have a ton of Bio majors, so you’ll have lots of competition.

I think Cornell is a fair reach, and Colgate might even be a match. Do you have any other ECs? Maybe research or volunteering? Anything you’d like to add?

You may feel like your SAT is on the lower side, but I think you’re still in the 40-60% ballpark in terms of chances.

I am actually hoping to major in Biology and Society at the school of Agriculture and life sciences. Do you think that hurts my chances…?

As far as other extra corriculars, I do 24 hours or more per year for NHS, as well as a bit of work for the Canine Cancer Foundation (very occasionally) when family friends come into town. I understand that most applicants will have way more hours than that, but soccer and music have been very time consuming extra corriculars, and if I could I would love doing more community service at a local hospital. :/

What is your SAT score breakdown? Specifically CR+M?

Cornell doesn’t look at the Writing score.

Unfortunately writing was by best score

Reading: 640
Math: 650
