That's really it... I'm applying to:
UC Berkeley
UC LA
UC Davis
UC San Diego
UC Santa Barbara
Cornell
Duke
MIT
Stanford

I know I have little to no chance at MIT or Stanford but I figured I'd apply anyways because they're my dream school and why not.

I’m no expert on the UC schools, but I’d say you have a fighting chance for all of them. Santa Barbara is easier to get into, I’ve heard, so I would say no worries there. Stanford and MIT, of course, are crapshoots for just about every qualified student-valedictorians and exemplary students from my school are rejected all the time (although, of course, I know two or three people from my school who go there now). And you’re right; simply putting your name into the running at these schools give you any kind of chance. Who knows? If you really sold yourself in the essays (which I know, for Stanford, since I considered applying, are numerous), you have just as much a chance as anyone else. Maybe more :)

Chance me? I’m not sure how to link to threads, but mine is called “My FINAL Chance Thread”

Good luck in your pursuits, and may the odds be ever in your favor. :D

You have a good course load this year. I’m jealous of your unweighted GPA :P. ACT is strong and so are your subject tests. The only weak point I can identify is your course rigor in the previous years. You have a good chance at the UC schools in my opinion. However, I think Duke, Stanford, and MIT are really reaches and Cornell is a reach. It really depends on whether or not you have ED at any of these reach schools and your ethniticity (yes that matters).

Well I wish you good luck! I hope you and I can both make it into Berkeley.
