Chance me?

Trying again with this post since I had no replies prior.

Last year as a senior in high school with a 3.4 GPA and 1800 SAT score (1180 math and critical reading) I was accepted into a branch campus of the University of Connecticut. I realize this is iffy for the main campus for an in-state student.

I had 7 UCONN ECE credits to go along with my application as well.

I am currently attending Southern Connecticut State University as a freshman and am looking to transfer for the fall semester into the school of liberal arts at Storrs to pursue a dual major. Here are my stats for the first semester of college.

18 credits (the limit at SCSU)
3.83 GPA
Dean's List
Intro Psych: A-
Macroeconomics: A+
First Year Experience Class: A+
Critical Thinking, Physics: A
Elementary Stats: B+
English Composition II: A
Received letter of recommendation from Psych department head.
Working job on campus. (secretary)

This semester I am also taking the course limit (Calculus, Microeconomics, Personality psych, Lifespan psych, Western Civilization, Elements of Physics Lab+Lecture).
My essay was very well written, and my application was completed on January third. I am fairly confident of being accepted I just want to be accepted into the main campus. (my dream school!) I don't want to be branched again and I have made that clear in my writing.

So what do you all think my chances are?

(If it wasn't already obvious I am an in-state student)

Based on your stats, it would be a shame if they didn’t accept you. My DS is a senior this year and is “patiently” waiting for his decision. His stats are similar to yours. He has applied to 11 nicely ranked schools, been accepted to 9 and is waiting to hear from UCONN and one other. He really believes UCONN (as an in-state student) is his reach. We wish you all the luck in the world, you deserve the transfer to Storrs! Congrats on your success at SCSU.

It looks like you’ve picked it up quite a bit in college. This happens all the time with students coming out of high school, which is why CC beforea 4-year university is such a popular and successful option in larger states such as California. UConn accepts a lot of transfers, so I would say you’ll get in.

I appreciate the kind words. I know they start deciding around the beginning of February (in the order in which they are received) so it should be any day now, I’ll repost when I hear back.

WOO ACCEPTED THIS MORNING! NOW A HUSKY! Thank you for your input everyone! SO PSYCHED!

Congrats jcn3334, that is great news!

Thank you!

Congratulations!

Jem3334, if you’re still around, could you give me any impressions you care to share of Southern Connecticut?
