hi this is my first post here on cc and I was wondering if someone could chance me evn though some people think chance posts are useless i think it would give me some clues.

my extracurriculars are extremely weak which are my biggest concern

mexico mission trip

my essay is pretty strong for I have some complicated situations occur to me throughout my life which I believe shaped strongly who I am today.

I know I want to major in business but not in what specific category. My dream school would be UC Berkeley and I havn't thought much about other schools which I know is risky and some what stupid so I was wondering if you could give me your opinion of which schools would be considered safety, match and reach. Thank you :)
(schools in order of personal preference)
uc berkeley
university of pennsylvania
uc la
stanford
harvard
cornell
NYU

i realized i havnt listed any safety schools… like I’ve previously mentioned I havn’t really researched any school other than UCB or UPenn so I just listed colleges off of my head… a bunch of ivies… .__. i should do more research

I’d say you have a decent shot at Berkely, UCLA, NYU, and Cornell. However, at the upper-level ivies, almost all competitive students have GPAs and scores like yours. Unless your essays and recommendations are off the charts, your ECs have to be incredibly strong to put yourself in a position to get into those schools (unless you are located in the same state).

thank you for your input ^^. i live in cali so the only ivy school in state is stanford which isnt evn really an ivy. yes my ecs are my largest weak spot, i guess you can say i havnt found anything im passionate about. Im just ecstatic to hear I have a chance at Berkeley  my mom told me a couple years back tat she would cut off her hand if a student like me can get into tat school (its a korean saying which basically means impossible lol)

Heeey fellow Korean. I concur with fishy^^ your chances of getting into Berkeley are definitely higher than mine.good luck to you

You have stellar grades and ACT scores are great. However, Penn, Stanford, Harvard, and are still reaches because of your somewhat lacking ECs (comparatively speaking).
Cornell and NYU would be high matches. Since you are an in-state applicant, I would think UCB would be a match and LA would be a low match as well.

bumpppppppp

bumpppityyy

bummppp. if anyone has any additional colleges i mite be interested in
i would really appreciate it ^^
