Not me, but a friend
Instate, Asian male

GPA: Top 11%, 4.19 weight, UW: 3.76
SAT: 2190, 1470 CR + M
Math II: 750, Chem: 770

EC's:
Volleyball team for 2 years
Beta Club
NHS, Science NHS, Latin honor society.

Leadership: None.

Job: Worked at dominoes for a summer

Essay: Decent, but nothing great. (my opinion, he agrees)
Recommendation: Decent, small chance that the teacher might have said something negative. Doubt it though. That would be a horrible thing to do.

His current year load is quite good:
Calc BC, Env science, Physics B, Bio, Micro/Macro. Pretty rigorous. he will have 16 APs by graduation. He only failed one exam, which was Comp sci, got 4's and 5's on rest.

He fears that his 3.76 UW will bring him down. I say it wouldn't, because they do weight. What do you all think?

he has a really good chance of getting into GT! GT doesn’t look at unweighted; instead they look at weighted. with that weighted gpa, he should be fine!!

what’s his major though?

^ major doesn’t matter.

Where did you hear that they don’t look at unweighted?

As an in-state:
