- Future Civic Leaders (9-12) - Club Manager, Founding Member, Developed/Created a weekly news bulletin at school that updates students with current events

- Tennis Instructor (10-12) - Taught privately and at tennis schools in my town
- Journalist (9-12) - Sports columnist for a newspaper in my state, Interned as a field journalist for them this past summer
- Radio DJ/Host (12) - So basically my boss from the paper offered me an interview to host a radio/news show in the area. I interviewed, got picked, and had a summer show. </p>

<p>Volunteer/Community Service: Umm...I guess Girl Scout stuff falls into this category too</p>

<p>Essays: I can't exactly assess the quality of my own essays, but I will say that I'm in love with every single one of them. I feel like I vomited me all over the page (as weird as that sounds...)
Teacher Recommendation: Got one from my APUSH teacher and my AP Lang teacher, I think they turned out ok, I really loved them both as teachers :)
Counselor Rec: No idea what he wrote, but we had a great relationship, so I think it turned out ok

<p>You’re certainly qualified to do the work at Stanford, as are 80% of the applicants. Will you get in? No one on this forum can tell you, and an admission officer couldn’t even tell you without reviewing your entire application (essays and recs included) and comparing it to the entire pool in a given year.</p>

<p>Bottom line: Stanford is a reach for everyone since the pool is so good. They get to final decisions with 6,000 applicants who are stellar across the board (academically, extracurricularly, and personally) and can only take about 2,000, so some luck is involved.</p>
