Chance me?

Hi the schools I'm looking to apply to are Deerfield, Millbrook, Governer's, and Westminster. I have currently a 4.5 gpa and last year i graduated 8th grade with a history award, a math award, a science award, and a art award. These were all awards for top in class or most promising. I will be applying for 10th grade (sophomore year). I also attend a IB school and am in the pre IB program.

My current stats are:
English; 95
Math:98
Science:99
Spanish:97
History: 97
Ceramics: 97
Chorus: 94
Drawing: 90

My EC'S are...
Basketball (jv)
Soccer (varsity 2nd string)
Dance Team (varsity)
KURA project-Kids united for rural Africa
volunteer work at animal shelter 2hr/w
I run a ebay business where i sell things for my parents friends and receive 15 percent

Don’t forget the 80 ssat and the 25 days of missed school if you want someones honest opinion. Your grade point average has jumped to a 4.5?

no my grade point average from last year was 4.0 and this year is 4.5 because of honors

Is it even mathematically possible for a middle school GPA to increase from 4.0 to 4.5 in one single term?

gmtplus7- my gpa in 8th grade was 4.0 and now i am in 9th grade and it is 4.5 currently for the first term of 9th grade. When i apply to boarding school I am applying for 10th grade as a sophomore

GPA is not a one term deal. You need to also include all the grades u received in the last 2 or 3 years, depending on how many years of grades the BS requires-- hence the surprise that your CUMMULATIVE GPA could increase by 0.5 in a single term, which is an absolutely humungous jump.

gmtplus7-yeah this year i decided to take 2 honors classes science and math.

I would be more concerned about your attendance issue than anything else. Honestly, schools would not appreciate it very much. You said you skipped school quite a few times because it didn’t provide you with challenging academics. While they should understand the situation, attendance should still be a big issue to them.
