I’m no expert on chances, but regarding the Select application, no that doesn’t mean anything. To explain, I have twins, one got it, one didn’t. When I inquired, I was told by the admissions counselor that everyone gets the same deal and the “Select” application is a marketing thing. Good luck though!!! I would think your chances are quite good!

Please do not take anything I’m about to say the wrong way. You asked an opinion and I will give you one.

I’m not wild about your chances. This is not to say that you absolutely won’t get in, but your stats present a real mixed bag based on what you presented.

Pros:
Strong course load
Good ECs
Good High School

Neutral:
SAT is middle of the road, to below average. (Not nationally, but among their accepted students.)

Negative:
GPA. Unless that is calculated on a scale I’m not familiar with, it is a real problem. Having a C average over all is going to leave you with a very uphill battle. You may wish to talk to an admissions counselor to get their feel for it, but I am not confident that can be overcome.

If your heart is set on Baylor your best option will likely be the “Baylor Bound” program where you spend one or two years at a pre-approved Junior College, then (with good grades) have a guaranteed admission with guaranteed course transfer credit.

All that being said, don’t let me discourage you. Talk to a counselor, and if they think you have a shot, go ahead and apply. Best of luck, and remember… everything I said is just the opinion of an outside. Do your best to prove me wrong! We are all pulling for you!
