Chance me?

I have a sad story. Here, I thought I would improve my SAT so I can get into Cal Poly SLO but sadly I kept the same score. I started with a 1760 (M 650, R 500, W 620), and now I have a 1770 (M 650, R 500, W 630). This sucks and I feel like crap right now. Anyway can you chance me at the colleges that I'm applying to, please?

Intended Major: mechanical engineering

Critical Reading: 500
Math: 640
Writing: 630
Essay: 8
Overall Score: 1770

Other info about me:

Cross country: 3 yrs (JV + V)
Track: 3 yrs (JV + V)

Accumulated Weighted GPA: 4.1
Accumulated Un-weighted GPA: 3.8
CSU GPA: 4.14

Several AP Courses:
AP World Hist (2)
APUSH (4)
AP Lang (3)
AP Art Hist (4)
AP Calc AB (4)

Potential AP courses (senior year):
AP Psych
AP Calc BC
AP Lit
AP Chem

Schools I'm applying to:
Cal Poly Pomona
Cal Poly SLO
UCSD
UCI
UCR

I'm mostly concerned about Pomona; I think that's where I'm headed. Thanks for all your guys' help!

hmm I would have to say it will be a reach mainly because of that SAT.Chance me back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1710951-chance-for-chance-back-ut-austin-a-m-gtech-ucsd-uc-irvine-ucla-and-cal.html#latest

If it matters, my eligibility index is 5082.

(4.14) x 800 + 1770 = 5082

I am not to sure what that is?

Idk either. Pomona’s website said they take that into consideration since ME is an impacted major.

GPA x 800 + (SAT SCORE)

I’ll chance you.

The EI is (CSU GPA x800) + (SAT math + SAT CR) not your total SAT score.
EI is 4462

SLO/UCSD: Reach
UCI:High Match/Low reach
CPP/UCR: Match

You might want to consider UCSC,SJSU,SDSU and CSU Fullerton also. Good Luck

thank you!

@Gumbymom I know this is an old thread, but I have some questions if you don’t mind answering.

I’ve recently been admitted to UCR and UCSD (I’m still waiting for Cal Poly, CPP, and UCI), but I didn’t get into Mechanical Engineering while UCR did. Does this mean I have no chance of getting into the school of engineering at UCSD? Should I not even bother with schools that don’t accept with Mechanical Engineering?

@TheIntegration‌: I personally am not a risk taker, so I would pick the school with the direct admit into ME. Here is a link for changing majors at UCSD: http://maeweb.ucsd.edu/undergrad/ugadmissions#freshmen

If you decide to go to UCSD, then I would also have a plan B if you cannot get into ME. UCR is a small but very good Engineering program with many opportunities for you as an undergrad. You can specifically request a tour of the Engineering facilities at UCR before you make a decision. Good Luck and hopefully you will have some more good choices in the next few weeks.
