[ b]General Comments:
*: Chance me?

Chance me for CV as well?

Are you submitting both your SAT and your ACT? I would recommend sending just ACT as your SAT is considerably lower than your ACT, and not sending a 770 on your SAT II won’t hurt you.

I sent both my SAT and my ACT because they were close-ish (2060 vs. 32), and I had a 630 in reading, so don’t think yours is bad. It’s the toughest section.

^You can send ACT and SAT II without sending SAT. In other words, I believe you can separate out SAT and SAT II and send only the latter.

Oh, my bad. If that’s the case, I would do that. You already show that you’re strong at math wkth the 35 so it’s up to you whether you want to send the sat II or not.

@collegepanda96 I have sent my SAT score already. I am still waiting on the ACT writing to come out. My previous ACT was a 33, so sending this 34 will give me a better chance.

bump

As has been mentioned, you should have just sent in your ACT. I also saw you tell someone else after the fact that they got declined because their extra-curriculars were not good enough. If I’m honest, I think that comment might be rather hypocritical because I find your extra-curriculars the weakest part of your application. With that said, your class rank is obviously very good and the 34 on the ACT is within the range. I think you are a borderline admit and it could go either way.

@Sykology well I sent both because my ACT was a 33. A 33 is basically equal to a 2180. I took the ACT again and made a 34.

I respectfully disagree that my EC’s are the weakest part of my application. I’ve played soccer and piano since I was 4 years old. I was captain for 4 years of my team(ranked top 5 in the state). My school team was ranked top 20 in the nation by ESPN. For piano, I have earned too many awards to list. That’s
Why I put “lots of” instead of specifying a number.

I would list school clubs that I have been in, but involvement in many of those are shallow and don’t require much commitment. Only a couple of clubs require you to contribute a lot of your time and energy.

@Sykology, also don’t forget that volunteering/work also are extracurricular activities.

Are you applying as an ED2 or RD applicant ?

@Beau15 RD. My parents don’t want to pay 60k a year for Vandy lol.

Sorry. Tied down to paying 60k a year in case we get better offers.

I applied RD and was accepted.
Some of your ECs were similar to mine so I definitely feel that you have at least a moderate chance.

For ED, I believe there is a way out should you get a better financial offer, but I’m not too sure because I never applied ED anywhere.

@Suffer‌ ah okay. I didn’t want to risk tying myself down so I decided to do RD. Thanks for your input though.

@IamStruggling‌ I did the same thing. You can get out of ED, but I’ve been told its a nightmare of paperwork.

@musicgeek97 Yea haha I’m not trying to do a bunch of paperwork.

I think you have a pretty decent chance. You have good academics and you have some accomplishments in two of your ECs. Just relax and enjoy your senior year. You’ve already sent in your application, and there’s no use in worrying about it. You are a competitive applicant, and that’s all that matters in chance threads at highly selective schools.

@envro55 thank you! Would you by any chance know how to submit midyear reports? Do the counselors do it on common app or what?
