Chance me for UC Davis?
UCD: Low Reach
Davis is a reach with that SAT score and GPA.
I think it is unlikely. Both your GPA and SAT are light for Davis.
Apply broadly - including some CSUs - and good luck.
@gumbymom I was accepted yesterday for Poly Sci at Cal Poly. Is Poly similar to Davis in acceptance?
@polysci11: I really cannot say since UC’s have more admission criteria than Cal Poly, but getting into SLO is a good sign. SLO is a very good school for engineering, business and science majors. I am really not sure how their other programs stack up to UCD’s, in particular Political Science. UCD would be a more competitive admit due to the its promixity to the state Capital and its Law School. I still think your GPA will hurt your chances but I would love to be proven wrong.
Cal Poly admits by college, so the stats for liberal arts are a lot lower than engineering. Their website has all of the statistics here:

I got into Cal Poly for chemistry, but UC Davis is my first choice…so I’m waiting on that one
Good luck!!
My daughter sounds similar to you. 3.72 GPA. 29 ACT. Lots of EC’s. Not low income but 1st generation college. She also got into Cal Poly. Does anyone know when we will hear about Davis?
@wishforcalpoly Davis is releasing decisions on March 13.
