Does your school do class rank? If so that may be helpful. I think UPenn and Columbia will be pretty high reaches but I think you have a fair chance at all the UC schools. Your writing and English scores on the ACT are amazing, but if you are majoring in an area of science I would suggest trying to raise your math and science score a couple of points

No, unfortunately my school doesn’t do class eanks :frowning: thank you for the feedback though!

UC GPA? http://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

3.79

Considering that you live in California, you probably will get into most…if not all UC schools

I think Berkeley, UPenn, and Columbia are all high reach schools…nothing really stands out

If your UC GPA is 3.79, then you are below average for all but UCM/UCR and UCSC. That being said, your ACT is competitive and EC’s are good. Work on your essays this summer and make them outstanding. UCLA/UCB. the Claremont colleges, UPenn and Columbia are probably out of reach due to GPA, but you have a decent chance at the rest of the UC’s. Apply broadly and make sure you have a couple of good safeties on your list that you are willing to attend. Over the last few years, the UC’s and college admissions in general have been unpredicatable so make sure you have some good backups. Good Luck.

Got it, thanks! Would the fact that I’m going to be a pre-collegiate student at UC Berkeley this summer help with admissions by any chance?

No because almost 75% of the people who attend UC Berkley did not take a pre-college summer program. Honestly, those programs are a way for colleges to make money–rarely do they aid in the admission process
