As you can see by my name, I really want to attend at least one of the following UC’s : UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCI, UCSB, UCD, UCSC
Now for some stats~
Asian: korean
UW GPA: 3.55 (10-11)
W GPA: 4 (out of 5?) (10-11)
UW Academic GPA 3.67 (9-11)
W GPA : 3.94 (9-11)
ACT: 32
SAT: 1790 (probably not even gonna retake)
SAT subject 2: none
EC: Praise band member for 4 years ~200 hrs? (drums), homeless missions ~5hrs, and about 20 hours from clubs (no leadership positions)
Awards: AP scholar award, Gold Presidential Volunteer Award (I got it during the summer before 9th… does it still count?), and Seal of Biliteracy
As you can see, my extracurricular lacks quite a bit, especially school activities.
Sophmore year: 3 Honors/ regular classes, C’s on Pre-calculus honors both semesters (weighted) , B in AP Euro both semesters, resulting in weighted GPA of 3.8 both semesters
Junior Year: 3 regular/ honors classes, 3 AP classes. I got B’s in all AP classes and a B in a regular class (calc), but I was able to clutch it and get straight A’s second semester. 1st semester W GPA: 3.8 2nd semester W GPA: 4.5
Senior Year: 4 AP classes, 1 non-academic class (photo). It looks like I’ll be able to get at least a 4.4 1st semester, 4.6 or 4.8 more likely
I came to the United States at the 2nd grade, and I’m not a US citizen yet if that even matters at all. As you can see from my years, I’ve improved drastically from first semester of junior year to second semester and now senior year. My family is not very rich because we’re the first generation so I receive government aids such as free lunch, food stamp, etc. Because of my financial standpoint, I wasn’t able to go to those prestigious SAT academies and such and basically took the SAT and ACT blind without any prep. (is this good to talk about for college essay?) I’d appreciate it if you guys tell me whether the UC’s listed above are a match, high reach, etc. Thanks guys~
