Hello and good day to you all!
Major: History
Location: Washington State
Ethnicity: Asian (Filipino)
GPA: 3.6 (UW), 3.78 (CSU) (NOTE: I took classes in community college starting the middle of my junior year.)
SAT: 1680/2400 and 1120/1600 (Took another SAT in Nov. and still have yet to see new scores.)
EI: 4152
I have taken a part-time education course of International Baccalaureate classes and several community college classes. Will the community college classes be taken into consideration?
Also a question: would it be better to go “undeclared” or just stay at history?
@Gumbymom Thanks! SDSU is my main focus!
Btw, I’ve read previous threads and I see you always talk about EI and the cutoffs. Where do you find the cutoffs for such majors? Is my EI one to worry about with other majors (excluding nursery).
Only SJSU will publish their EI cutoffs by major. For the rest of the CSU’s, the EI thresholds are more of looking at the statistical data over several years. An EI of 4100 is competitive for SDSU in most majors. For Nursing, since SDSU offers a direct admit program, the EI’s have been looking around 4300+. Again it is based on posted stats of applicants that have been accepted into the Nursing program over the last few years.
You stated in your original post that your major is History, so you should be fine with your EI of 4152. If you are aiming for the Nursing program, then it will be a Low Reach.
@jmliquid I have a really similar situation to you, I’ve taken 107 quarter units in high school and have a GPA of 3.75 UW and 4.1 W. I also live in Washington so let me know if you get in!
