SAT: 1960 (630cr,650m,680wr)
gpa 86.4 on a 100 scale, not sure what that is on a 4.0
I had a bad average freshman year, but my grades have progressed every year. I took 2 AP’s junior year and I’m taking 3 more senior year.
ec’s are varsity football for 4 year, plus being a captain, varsity/jv basketball for 4 years, Chess club vp for 2 years, volunteer coached 2nd grade boys basketball and volunteered to do the scoreboard/book for older grades
I know its kinda a reach but what are my chances to get into BU regular decision? I looked and students from my school with worse numbers have gotten in.
What major/school are you applying to within BU? That is very important because if you express interest in the College of General Studies, you may not necessarily need the highest of stats. Each school varies in its difficult to be accepted into, so be sure to look into that, but definitely express interest in CGS as a fall back.
Your SAT matches but is a little bit on the low range. The average GPA accepted is an A-, and you seem to be around a B+, but if your schedule seems rigorous enough it may compensate for that.
Not sure if you applied yet, but if you really want to get in, be sure to put a lot of effort into that “Why BU?” essay. Whether your stats match or not, if you totally blow that essay, you will not get accepted. Be sure to show who you are within it, how you would be a good match for the school, and why you love it.
Definitely hype up the volunteer work on your application.
Hope this helps! Good luck
I totally agree with @fishgill It is worth giving a short but make sure you have some safeties as well.
Chance me back?
