Chance me

I’m a senior in high school and applied to the University of Cincinnati’s Nursing Program. My cumulative WGPA is 3.8 and my ACT is a 24. I was looking through my application status on the website and noticed whether there was a checkmark or X by the things part of the application. I submitted my application on the 24th of August but the only thing received so far by the school is my offical ACT score but my transcript and recommendation letters still need to be sent in. I was wondering if the school will still look at the rest of my application and possibly make a decision for me? or will they just wait until everything is all sent in. My counselor is very busy with all the other college stuff she’s working on and I don’t know how long it will take for her to get to mine. This is my top choice and I’m paranoid the longer it takes the less chance I have to get in.

I would recomend calling the school and ask if they have all the other things. Sometimes they have it but it takes a while for them to put it in.

I’m interested in why you selected U of C for nursing? What other schools were you looking at? We are looking at them too but have yet to visit.

@Rollout I look at schools that specifically have a traditional 4 year BSN degree in which I can start my freshman year and UC was one of them. I prefer schools with programs like that vs the 1/2 year required prerequisites and then applying for the school of nursing. I also applied to Xavier university, uConn, Clemson, Belmont, and Purdue. Still looking for more school to add to the list.

i am the transcript coordinator for a high school and i am the one that sends letters of rec from the counselors, teachers as well as the transcript. i suggest talking to your teachers and your counselor and letting them know that you have sent everything you need to send and are waiting for the high school to send their part so that your application will be looked at as soon as possible. colleges will not look at your until they have everything that is required. you have done your part…now you have to wait for your high school to do their part. i hope that helps.

good luck

@CyberBlossom where are you from? You might want to look at Grand Valley in Michigan as well. They have a great program, although you need a 30 on the ACT in order to get into the direct admit program. We like it because the campus has nice, newer buildings, and the nursing school is in downtown Grand Rapids, where they also have a campus. So you could live 2 years on campus and 2 years in the city.

@Rollout I’m in Tennessee, but I’ll consider it! And since I don’t have a 30 for the ACT how will the admission process work for me? Or will I even be considered? I’ll look more into it though, thanks for the suggestion.

You would have to apply after completing some pre-reqs freshman year, but they let plenty of people in so it didn’t seem that difficult.
