Any advice given is greatly appreciated as well!

Your stats look in-range for the schools that you mentioned. I don’t have experience with IB grading, so I can’t speak to what’s viewed as good or not in IB. But your SAT is fine.

I think the tough part comes with being an engineering major. Your ECs are a little on the generic side and I don’t see anything engineering-related among them. You’re going to be competing against kids who are nationally recognized in math, have won science contests and worked in labs.

My advice: Develop that as a hook. Let those colleges know how you’ll bring something different to their engineering departments because you’ve spent time out in the world helping people and developing your skills in the arts. Bring yourself into more than one dimension.

Remember- if you can play a weakness to your advantage, it’s not a weakness.

Best of luck! I think that you have a lot to work with.

I definitely think that you have a shot at these schools, especially with your dedication towards children with disabilities. Just a suggestion, but I think that you should give the SAT another shot to try increasing your score a bit. Your SAT score is definitely in the range of these schools, but if you can raise it to around 1530-1540+, then that’d definitely help.
