chance me?

ik most ppl hate these posts but im really in a bad place so an honest chance me will do me some good. i applied ea but after doing more research realized northeastern is perfect for me and should’ve ED. anyway i have a 93 weighted gpa and 1480 sat. I have great EC’s, including international volunteering, tutoring, two business club leadership positions, attending and competing in several state and one international competition, local volunteering, and some more smaller things. I have two great letters of recommendation and what I believe to be a fairly good essay. the only thing really lacking is my grades for sure. I am applying as an engineering undecided major. what are my ea chances? is it worth trying to switch it to ED II, because if i were to get denied ed 2 it would mess up my current plan pretty badly as i plan on applying to my second choice which is much easier than northeastern. please let me know and if you have any more questions feel free to ask. thanks in advance and sorry if this whole thing is worded weirdly.

Northeastern should be a high match for someone with your stats, that’s all people can say.

In terms of EDII, are you saying that you would EDII to your second choice if not Northeastern, but Northeastern is your first choice? That feels like a recipe for regret. Either EDII to your #1 or don’t use EDII at all. It may be a different story if your #1 was Stanford and you had a 1300 SAT, but you’re a plenty viable candidate for admission for Northeastern. If you’re in a position to use ED, I would absolutely email your adcom and see if you can switch your application.

Good luck!

PS: Your wording is fine but paragraphs help people read posts better. Use some and you’ll probably get more replies :slight_smile:

basically my mistake was realizing northeastern is my #1 after the ED 1 deadline passed. i decided to EA since i lied it but did not like it enough at the time. I know realize i like it the most and would like to ED 2. I am not too worried about regretting doing ED 2, but the only thing holding me back is that i would not ED 2 to my second choice, Stevens. If i ED 2 to Northeastern, that leaves Stevens for RD, where I have a lower chance to get in and if i do, getting scholarship. Basically I just want to make sure i have a good chance at getting into Northeastern with ED 2, because if i do not it is too high of a risk. Is any specific major harder or easier to get in with? i am applying engineering but so are others at my school and i feel if i do something else like Physics it would be easier to get in. please let me know and thanks for the reply.

@PengsPhils

I think it should be easy enough to switch your application, so send that email!

I’m not a Stevens expert but does ED vs RD really make that much of a significant difference there?
