I got deferred early action to Georgetown, and I somewhat expected it, but I am still disappointed because it is my top school and would definitely commit if I got in. Basically, my question is: is it ridiculous to think that I have a small chance of getting in? Like is there any chance at all?
-I have a 34 ACT composite (36R, 35E, 33 S, 32 M, 8 W), a 3.7 unweighted (oof lol) and a 4.5 weighted GPA. I am applying as an International Politics major in the Walsh SFS. I am co-president of French Honors Society, co-president of the mock trial club at my school, am in NHS (not an officer though), and am a member in SADD and GSA as well. I also had an unpaid internship with a local law firm for about a year as a sophomore and did an International Diplomacy summer program this past summer.
-I took AP Lang (4), APUSH (4), Honors French, Honors Calc 1 last year, and am taking AP Lit, AP Stat, AP Gov, and AP French this year, along with Honors German. The only bad part of my courseload is the fact that I took academic (like basic level) chem last year, and academic physics this year, but I thought it might be ok since it’s not really related to my major, and I took a decent amount of APs this year. I also took German 1 academic-level last year, but they don’t offer Honors German for the first year, so that’s not really my fault lol. And I didn’t take any APs sophomore year because they only offered 1, which was AP Euro, and because no one at my school takes it, it’s online only.
I realize my stats are kind of a mixed bag, but I wanted to know if I had any chance of getting in, and why, especially if not.
