Chance Me =]

Here are my stats:

ACT: 32 (35R/35E/30M/29S) I've taken it 3 times, and all three times I got a 32. I think it's just fate haha. My superscore would be a 33, although that would only apply to Wash U.

SAT: N/A (might take it this fall, highly doubt it though)

SAT IIs: Biology=750, taking Lit this fall (700+, hopefully, considering my high ACT english/reading scores and some additional studying) and Math I/II (haven't decided, math isn't really my strong suit, what do you guys suggest?)

APs: Biology-5, US History -4, US Gov't - 4, Latin Vergil -3

Senior schedule: AP English Language, AP Latin Lit, AP Psychology, AP Calc AB (again, math is not my forte! haha), AP Chem.

General:
Female
South Asian
Go to a large public high school in IL

Academics:
GPA: UW= 3.8, W=4.3 <---will go up after this semester, due to more AP's.
Rank: 35/780, same as above, will go up after this semester is over
Expecting pretty good recommendations from my Biology and Latin teacher(whom I've had for four years now).

After-school activities:

Amnesty International
Years 9, 10, 11, 12. Secretary during Soph. year, hoping for another leadership position during 12.
Very devoted to this club, have helped out with tons of fundraisers and awareness activities.

Key Club
Years 9, 10, 11, 12. VP for 12.
Done a lot of volunteering in the community with it, as well as organizing benefits and fundraisers.

National Honor Society
Not really a big deal, but yeah, I'm in it.

Drama Club / Theater
Years 11, 12
Just recently got involved in this, found a real interest for all of the technical work that happens backstage and have helped out for 2 productions this year, hopefully will be a crew-head this year.

Latin Club
Years 9, 10, 11, 12
Done volunteering in the community, gone to 3 state IJCL conventions, 1 national convention, won several art/academic awards. Along with this club: Latin Honor Society 11, 12. Very similar to NHS.

The Blueprint
11, 12
Online newsmagazine founded by me and my friend. We have a lot of support from both staff and students, and hopefully will get the website up and running this summer! We're both really passionate about writing and never had time to take the journalism class (which was not highly recommended, anyways) at our school, so we just decided to start our own newsmagazine by students, for students! I'm really excited about this and hopefully everything works out!! I don't know how much time we'll both have to devote to getting everything set up due to a busy fall schedule and applications, but we're trying our best to do as much as we can in the next few weeks.

Volunteer Hours / Work / Other
I've got probably 60 or so volunteer hours outside of my clubs
Foreign language tutor
Regular volunteer at the local library (shelving, helping kids etc)
Worked 30+ hours a week this summer at my local Starbucks
Did the CTD program at Northwestern for 3 weeks before my freshman year (loved it there!)

Prospective major: Biology. Not necessarily pre-med, but yeah basically I just love the subject. It makes my heart happy =] haha so nerdy, so nerdy.

ANYWAYS, what are my chances of making it in to...

Northwestern
Wash U
Duke
USC
UIUC
Michigan - Ann Arbor

!?

Northwestern--Slight Reach
Wash U--Slight Reach to Reach
Duke--Reach
USC--Match
UIUC--Safe Match to Match
Michigan - Ann Arbor--Match

Best of luck.

You took Latin: Vergil? Nice.

That is perhaps one of the interesting APs to me, but I've never heard of anywhere in my area offering the class.

It was brutal, but I enjoyed it even though my AP score didn't end up being that great. AP Latin Literature this year is far more interesting though! Ah, Catullus and his love poems ;) haha

Calcruzer's chance predictions are somewhat generous, but you have solid chances, nonetheless.

Just a little bump =]

Also, forgot to include this, but my brother went to USC. If that makes any difference at all (probably not)...

much belated BUMP! anybody else have any thoughts? (i decided not to take any more SAT II's, but otherwise the rest of my stats are relatively the same as of now...same GPA, same rank, etc) =) Thanks!
