bumpdebump....,...anyone???

Umm... I think UMich is the best that you will make it into. It's not your unweighted that kills you for your reaches, it's the low weighted GPA.

That's a pretty worthless reply. The only reason his weighted GPA is so low is because Ann Arbor Public Schools only add .33 to a GPA for taking an advanced class. If you get an A or an A+ in an advanced class, the highest you can get is a 4.0.

Weights are different for different schools, that's why schools almost never take the weighted GPA and put it into their system for their calculations. The unweighted GPA is what is important, and the OP has a good one. In fact, UM has a "Michigan GPA" where they completely disregard any potential weights, any +/- grades, and any elective course grades when they evaluate you.

As for the OP, I would really research what type of school fits you. Looking at your list, it's as if you found a list of the top business programs in the country and decide "let's shoot for the most prestigious schools!" Michigan is a completely different college experience from MIT, Notre Dame is way different from UTexas, and I have no clue why London is randomly in there. Figure out what kind of college experience you want and apply to schools that reflect your needs/wants, you shouldn't be applying to this many schools that are so different from one another.

umm.. First my schools weighted scale goes off a 4 not a 5.
second colleges tend to recalculate GPA and look at unweighted GPA not weighted.

However I do appreciate your post and I apologize if you take any offense to my post, i sincerely do not mean to call you out, I just wanted to get all the facts out there. =]

Hey no problem. My school just weights completely differently. Knowing that I think you have a decent shot at NYU, though Stern is highly competitive. Have you considered UVa or UCLA?

and thank you A2 for your post haha i didn't realize that you already posted...... and A2 I realize that my schools aren't diversified however I have since Middle School wanted to go into Business or something associated to business and that is why my list is like it is. College experiences isn't all that important to me, what matters for me is after college, the alumni connections, the number of undergrads who make it into wallstreet, etc. So if you do have suggestions of schools for me, I gladly will take them into consideration and again thanks for the posts!

@ cookie
Yeah however UVA Darden is only a 2 year program and I didn't want to take the risk of not getting into their business program.... UCLA is of no interest to me for a myriad of reasons, some personal, some practical. I did consider USC marshall and Carnegie Mellon tepper however I don't have enough background info on those schools, so still considering... Thanks for the quick reply!!!

No prob. I would look up Marshall, because for business it is not only an excellent program but it at USC, deemed the school of connections. I like your take on UCLA lol.

Whoops I meant McIntire lol i always get mixed up with the UVA B-schools,
