very tough courseload

prospective business major (olin)

In. Write good essays and you're in.

Actually, you definitely have the scores and grades to be in, but you may likely find yourself waitlisted if admissions thinks you are applying as a backup. Are you a National Merit Semifinalist who did NOT pick Wash U as your first choice? How much initiative have you made to show interest (applying early decision? attending local rep visit? visiting campus? local interview? scholarship applications? networking with local alumni?) With your test scores, your class rank at this point is not nearly as important as how you sell yourself to admissions.

If you're are applying ED you are almost definitely in, but like wudude said, if you apply RD and have not visited or shown any interest in the school whatsoever, you may be surprised to find out that you get waitlisted.

Yeah, are you applying ED? Because I can't imagine them not letting you in if you are.

No I am not applying early and I have never visited the school (I live in California). WashU is not my first choice and if it helps I am a national merit commended student + ap scholar with distinction.

Yeah unfortunately I am not applying ED, just RD

I'm not sure if being a Korean can affect your chance, we have so many Koreans in Wash.U.
Btw, I'm not trying to be racist or anything. I myself is asian too. So, that's just my thought.

Yeah it sucks to be korean for admissions. =(

Well, as stated above, WashU is known to waitlist applicants applying RD who have not shown any interest or visited...So although you have excellent stats and are more than qualified academically for admission, I wouldn't count on getting in. If you'd visited and gotten interviewed you'd definitely have a better chance.

Hey, if you're applying RD that means you still have time! If you have the time and can afford it, you can still make a trip and visit. You can also call up APAP and try to get a local interview with alumni, and you still have time to apply for merit scholarships. There are lots of ways you can demonstrate your interest before the January deadline.
