In at SD and Irvine. Toss-up for Berkeley and LA. They tend to really scrutinize international students so it’s difficult to tell.

If you attend CC at USA and completed IGETC and other course work with 4.0 GPA plus other awards and activities, you have very high probability (99%)of getting in for all of them!

What you should be aware of is:

 1. of missing course work in the requirement (try to narrow down to 0),

 2. Your essay (be sure to edit it and write it meaningfully; particularly don’t list awards or activities in your essay, you should focus on one thing and expand it out with quality).

To be clear, I meant that international students, even from USA CCs, are scrutinized. Actually, USA CCs is too general - UCs prioritize CCC students above all.

grey, i find that interesting… why do you think and how do you know that international students are scrutinized?

(*My question is NOT picking on your comment nor starting a flame war… it is just a curious question.)

Actually I read it on a couple of threads here a while ago, so I took it on faith. Do a search if you’d like. I think that follow-up posts by international students proved this conjecture to be true.

I think the scrutiny towards international students is a myth that people use to justify not getting into a school (just as the same about the myth about not finishing all your major prereqs by end of fall semester)

I know alot of international students who have 4.0, do everything that is required, and yet - still get into top UC’s like Berkeley and stuff for competitive majors.

But then again, I’m not an admissions person so maybe I might be wrong…
