chance me

Do you think I have a shot at getting into BU or Northeastern (they're my reaches)

Female Junior
1900 SAT (without preparing, going to take it again in May, hope to bring it up to at least a 2100)
have not taken SATII or ACT yet
84 GPA
I don't know what my class rank is

4 years of science so far (will have 5 when I graduate)
2 years of art (will have 3 when I graduate)
5 years of foreign language (will have 6 when I graduate)
3 years of english (honors since 9th grade, will take AP next year)
3 years of social studies (taking APUSH now, will take AP Euro next year)
3 years of math (weakest class, will not take math next year)
1/2 year of health (mandatory), 1/2 year of film study (elective)

I will graduate with 3 APs most likely (reason being because my school does not offer APs until Junior year)

Extra Curriculars:

Member of Youth Cancer Awareness Club
Member of Youth in Action Club
Member of Italian Club
Founder and President of Animal Welfare Club
Volunteer at Animal Shelter at least once a week
Volunteer at Children's Center usually 2 times a week
Cheerleading (3 years) Captain of my JV team last year

i think even with a 1900 you're in okay shape for these schools

getting up to a 2100 would just make them low match-safeties.

Wow really? I figured because my GPA is a bit on the low side it might of kept me out of these schools.

Your GPA isn't that low for your listed schools. Actually, BU's average GPA is only an A- (~3.6 on a 4.0 scale) and yours would be ~3.4. It's a bit low, but it doesn't throw you out of the game. If you raise your SAT scores to a 2000-2100, you'll have no problem. Your ECs seem fine, so I don't see any major weaknesses. Good luck!

chance me at "Are these safe to call my safety/ low match schools?"

an 84 is really low, i would think thats less than a 3.4, well maybe not. Either way I think you can defiantly get into BU, Northeastern is much more selective. They can both be done I would think

an 84 i think is a 3.4... but if she gets it up a little, i think she'll be competitive enough for BU and northeastern.
