Hey, hopefully someone can reply to this. Bucknell is one of my top choices, i will possibly apply ED II, but so far I’m applying RD.

I take the most rigorous courseload, at my private high school on LI.
90/100 UW
Rank: 61 out of 405
SAT: 660M/640CR/590Wr
ACT: 28
Good rec, good essay
ECs:
Social Studies club: 4 years, an hour a week 36 wks per yr

Library Service: 3 years, 4 hrs a wk, 36 wks a yr

Intramural Officials Club: 2 yrs, 2 hrs a wk, 36 wks a year and i am a senior officer.

Went to Boys State

Senior Leaders: Help Freshman adjust to new school and go to an inner city elementary school and assist with teaching and other activities, 3 hrs a wk, have and will continue to participate.

Visited campus, loved it.

Also not applying for FA

So with that being said what are my chances if i apply RD and what are my chances if i apply EDII?

You probably know that your stats are on the low, or below, end of the middle 50%. Therefore, I think, you really need to show interest. Applying EDII would show some of this interest.

Convey in your essays how Bucknell is a great fit for you.

Yes, morrismm i do know that i am on the low for stats, i have visited and plan to show in my essays that bucknell is really a great fit for me, i have also exhcanged some emails with an admission officer and the career development center and made a visit so hope fully I’m good there, but if i do all this right and show enough interest, what do you think my chances are for RD and EDII?

Strongest courseload possible, school doesnt offer AP’s, but they are considered that way, and theres a 50% chance I’m applying EDII, its my number one school but money is an issue (merit, not need, dont qualify for need). And i want to major in economics or computer science. Which is easier to get into?

Bucknell doesn’t really give a lot of merit-based scholarships, since everyone here is well-qualified academically the majority of scholarships are need-based. Just by the way.

I knew that, i believe they give out art merit scholarships, my choice is go ED Bucknell and automatically pay full tuition all four years, or apply RD and risk an even bigger chance of not getting in, but i could keep my options open, one of the hardest decisions for me.

EDII shows you are really interested in the school, and with the economy the way it is they will probably take more ED than RD because they are sure they can fill a class. If its your first choice go EDII, there is a higher chance of getting in. If you haven’t already submitted your app make sure you do the optional essay (if you didn’t before)
