I am applying to Andover, Exeter, Hotchkiss, and the Asheville School

I make all As

I am African American if that matters

I played Baseball from 3 years when I was younger if that matters

I believe my recommendations will be exceptional

I am a very active member of my church(Due to financial situation, church is my only EC)

I hope to get a 95+ on the SSAT, those darn analogies...

And my eassys should be about average( my eassys are usually very pithy)

I believe the interviews will go execellent

Not relevant but... I've always wondered if emailing the schools a bunch of questions increased your chances xD Since they see your name frequently and it shows dedication... Thanks in advance to anyone who replies (:

well i think you are pretty well rounded except try to focus on one main passion that you have… schools are really looking for your passion
u hav a rly gud chance i think… can u chance me too? thanks

Thanks! I’ve always wanted to play guitar but never had the money to buy one and thanks to the tech guy at my church I have a new found in theater tech and Church is my passion(: can you post your thread?

I would mention in your application or in your interview that because of your financial situation, you were unable to participate in many ECs. The admissions officers should be aware of this so they just don’t think you were lazy. Be sure to receive a recommendation from your church and possibly emphasize your passion for it in one of your essays.

Good Luck!!!

Thanks!! I’ll be sure to mention it!!

Please I really need some more replies guys. I’ll chance back!

Are you applying for your JR. year?

Good Chance-Your Chances would be even better if not for the financial “crisis”

Thanks for the truthfulness, the Hotchkiss interviewer absolutely LOVED me (: and she didn’t care about my financial aid. :D

Please keep the replies coming guys!!!

Yes, I know who she is. I interviewed w/ her too. If you get a good ssat score you will be in optimistic shape:D
What sports are you playing?

Who do you think it is? (:

And Im going to play Lacrosse in the Spring and Football in the fall :D

How many yrs. Experience? Any awards?

Oh crap, I thought you meant in the future xD Well I haven’t been able to play sports because of my, what one poster called it, financial “crisis” D: BUT I think my other stats are pretty good and being Black and from Alabama might give me a hook (:

Yup, it will but do you have any other ECs other than church? Actually, I just reread your OP and you`re looken golden w/ 3 yrs of baseball. Good luck.C:

Financial crisis strikes again D: BUT I volunteer with my church(: today we got back from a fundraiser to finding a cure for arthritis and I was on the scholar’s bowl team for two years

I’m a college applicant/high school senior - and I don’t think it’s a good idea to persistently email a school to show interest, it will definitely irk admissions officers, so I would avoid that. I visited Duke over the summer, where the adcom guy said that some kid kept emailing him questions and was ultimately rejected - I’m not sure if it’s the same with prep schools - good luck though, man - I think your SSAT’s, grades, and sports make you an competitive applicant.
