APES, AP Euro, AP Art, AP Stat, APGOV

thanks in advance, and im guessing my ecs, gpa, and # of APs is my downfall

I’d say you have a pretty good shot. What is your M+CR score? Your SAT is decent. 5 APs is plenty for an in state student. Your GPA is well above 4.0 ECs are fine.

Write good essays and get a good letter of recommendation and you should be good.

You’re fine. I would recommend NOT taking any extra subject tests unless they’re required for any other schools you’re applying to. Only the language and math subject tests count for anything because they can place you out of certain classes. They are also not really counted in the admissions process because they are not required. Two is plenty, so save your money.

Also, your ECs are not a downfall at all. They’re great. And the counselor statement you have to submit will have your school’s profile on it. They will see that your school limits the number of APs you can take. They look at how many you took compared to how many you were able to take rather than just the number. Five is also plenty in the first place.

The number of AP classes that in state students should take to gain admittance to UNC depends on the school. If your school limits AP classes then you will be fine. Otherwise, in state students do need to take more than 5 APs. (That’s my experience from our high school).

Given how unpredictable UNC admissions can be, I’d NEVER go so far to say that. You have a good shot especially as a URM. Don’t let up senior year and hopefully get the SAT over 2000. Make sure your essays are very strong as well as your LORs.
