Long story short, my friend has been dead set on U Chicago since the day we started freshman year, yet, despite having already sent out his app (EA), he's still fretting and bouncing off of the walls thinking about his chances. So I'm making this thread to (hopefully) shut him up and calm him down, because honestly, all his worrying is annoying, and uncomfortable for me as well.

Stats are as follow

Asian Male
UW Gpa: 3.76 (this is his biggest concern)
WGPA: 4.3
SAT-I: 2340
SAT-II (World History)- 770
SAT-II (Bio)- 780

12 some odd AP classes, 4 in Junior year, 1 in Sophomore, and 7 in Senior year, 5's on all Junior and Sophomore AP exams.

A little hazy with regards to what clubs he's a part of, but I think this is the correct list.

260+ Volunteer hours
Co president/founder of Political Debate Group-2 yrs
AP US Government Tutor- 2 yrs
Student ambassador- 2 yrs
Model UN- Secretary (or something of the like)
Co-Chief of Financial Management for Non-Profit org- 2 yrs (secured roughly 10k in grants)
Film Society (either VP or secretary)- 2 yrs

He is involved in a handful of other EC's, but these are the ones he is serious about.

As far as I can tell, he has pretty good relationships with the teachers who wrote his recs. He's known 1 teacher since freshman year, and the other is his english teacher who, from what I gather, really likes his writing.

I suspect that his essays, for U Chicago in particular, were pretty strong (seriously, he REALLY wants to go to this school).

Also, his crappy GPA is mainly a product of a poor freshman year (he took longer to adjust than most) and Junior year wasn't his strongest either, but again, he made the jump from 1 AP class to 4, and struggled with the workload 1st semester, did pretty well in the same classes during the second half of the year (or at least I think he did, there was a considerable drop in his complaining by the time second semester rolled around).

After writing all that, I realized how eerily similar my app is to his.

Now I will commence with the traditional chancing of 12 consecutive threads in order to receive feedback for my post.
