<p>I’d say she has a really good chance. I just hope she was a little less rash than you in describing “inner city minority grade school students.” That sounds a bit pompous.</p>

<p>It depends. Some private schools are have steep grading curves and upper 10% may not be a great gpa, and some state schools are not so good at dealing with what that represents. Ask the counselor at your DD"s school how kids do at UNC CH. That really is more indicative than anything else. By test scores, she looks pretty good.</p>
