So I'm a senior in high school
3.6 gpa for my weighted 10th&11th grade
-4.0 junior year and 3.1 sophomore

I got a 1610 on my sat
-Reading: 520
-Math: 630

I took the math 2 and Physics subject test and think I should get around 720 on both of them (give or take 30)

ACT I scored 25 composite
math-30
science-25
reading-23
english-20

I've been apart of the engineering academy run by Project Lead the Way at my high school since Freshman year. (I've taken intro to engineering, principles of engineering, civil and architectural engineering, and am currently in computer integrated manufacturing)

I took Pre calculus honors and Physics honors last year and I am taking AP calculus this year.

Id like to major in computer engineering or robotics engineering

your GPA looks good for UCSC… but your SAT score is a little low
and since UCs mainly look at your scores and GPA, that may hurt you
I’d say low-reach

Mine please?: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1567285-chance-transfer.html

I’d say it’s unlikely unless you really nail the essay. Merced is a better possibility though. Be sure to apply to some CSUs so you don’t get shut out.

Some of the CSUs, like Long Beach double weight your Math SAT when you apply to an engineering program. That will serve you well. If you are interested in So Cal, look there.

Given your location, I’m guessing you have limited interest in East Bay, Sonoma or SJSU (though SJSU is worth a look anyhow). Other N Cal programs to consider are Chico and maybe Sac.

Good luck.

Thanks, I’ve looked into csu’s and really like long beach and sdsu and my safeties would be Chico and Pomona. Santa Cruz is still most defiantly my top choice since it’s been my favorite city since I was little. I also heard the Santa Cruz, along with some other UC’s don’t read your personal statement unless you’re borderline on getting in

GPA is median but SAT scores are too low. You will be borderline at best, so check out other schools and make sure your statements are excellent.
