Your son seems like a competitive applicant. I don’t think you should be worried about much. I know it sounds silly, especially coming from someone who will probably be freaking out about rejection in a matter of days, but ND is a competitive school, and whatever happens happens. It won’t do any good to stress over how a school judged your son’s entire life in a matter of 10 minutes. I’m sure no matter where he goes, he’ll be fine. Best of luck, and kudos for being so involved in your son’s college application process.

@RangerJerry Your son and me are pretty much identical! I’m a lodge vice chief and Eagle Scout, and I’m on the OA’s national communications staff. I’m also very into band, though I was never good enough to make Allstate.

That being said, I think that your son has great chances, given his high class rank, very high amount of service hours, and solid ACT score. I think he’ll get in, but that’s just my opinion.
What lodge and section is he in, if you don’t mind me asking?

Seems like your son has an excellent chance assuming his essays and recommendations were compelling.

Section C-7. Wulapeju lodge 140, Blackhawk Area Council

wneely, my son is on National communications staff also; you two probably know each other

Not a great idea to put so many personal details out here about your kid… if the other poster can identify him, so can others.

good thinkin! i don’t think of things like that, but you are right… He was rejected tonight

@intparent @RangerJerry Good point, and sorry about that. I should have thought to PM him and will do so that way in the future.

Also, I’m very sorry and incredibly surprised that your son got rejected. WWW, and best wishes for the future for him.

we are surprised also; thought he had it. would love to know what was missing!
If you are ever at Camp Lowden, stop at the house and say hi!
