I think he is certainly a competitive applicant. Is he in-state? Have you done and alumni admissions session? Those are really good and offered in the spring. We attended a few years ago.
@TTG I have done it twice, once with D1 who is a sophomore at W&M and once with D2 who is awaiting a decision from W&M today. They were the best college admissions events that we attended. Sure, they give the W&M pitch, but they also have top notch admissions people from other great schools on the panels and in the programs, and the information about the process is invaluable IMO.
