Chance my Son

Please chance my S, he has 2 As and 3 Bs at a private day school in CT, plays soccer, squash, tennis on his school team, is a junior blackbelt, actve in community service, is bi-lingual, grew up in Europe and now lives in CT. Hasn't taken SSAT yet. Looking for a small/mid sized school -- applying for 9th grade entering 2010 -- pls chance him at St. George's, Westminster, Kent. He had very good interviews at those 3 schools already.

I think your son has a really good chance of getting in to all the schools, keep your grades up! :)

Sounds pretty good to me.

How are his sports? Does he excel at any of those sports you mentioned? If so, you should speak with the coach of ____ at the school you’re applying to. That always gives a big advantage.

Many thanks. Yes, the coaches have reached out to our son.

Does he play any instuments?

He doesn’t play any instruments as his current private day school isn’t very “music-oriented,” but he has expressed interest in learning more about arts/music programs at those schools to expand his horizons.

If he is full pay I think he has a very good chance. I think full pay may trump some other ec’s this year. best of luck

Yes, he is full pay. Many thanks for your input.

If you really make an effort to speak with the coaches, and let them know his enthusiasm of playing on their team, he will have an awesome chance. It seems he is a very well rounded kid. Make sure he preps for the interview; as that is a huge factor with admission. If he does well on the interview, he stands a great chance!

good luck!

if he has a Bplus average, good sports, is full pay, with the two variables being potentially good (ssat score above 85% and good recs) he should have no problem with those or higher tier schools
