Chance of Admissions

Hi, I was interested in UVA and appreciate any input or advice on possible admission.

GPA- 4.00
SAT- 590, 650, 620
ACT- 33 cumulative
I've taken AP Calc AB and Environmental Science, plan on taking economics, physics, and stat and prob.
NHS member, and three season athlete (field hockey, track).
I have a significant amount of community service, mostly due to NHS requirements.
I'm a white female interested in the ROTC program.
I plan on majoring either in business (accounting) or engineering (aerospace or something similar).

Your GPA and ACT is good. Your SAT is pretty low, I think... Do you live in VA? that might alter your chances. However, even if you are a VA resident, don't rely too much on your in-state advantage as admission rate for UVa is getting lower every year even for in-state students. And if you are NOT a VA resident, you might seriously consider raising your SAT scores, adding in some more EC's and volunteers and stuff...

Sorry, forgot about state. I'm from MD. Do I need to get my SATs up even though my ACTs are good? Would they accept just my ACTs if thats all that I send to them?

Just send in your ACTs...not sure how your hs does AP courses, but take more if you can. Your schedule looks a bit weak.

Other than that, do some leadership stuff over the summer and through next year. You look like a solid candidate!

I really regret not taking more AP classes this year. I might take Calc BC (just the second semester) if I can, but I'm afraid of overloading my schedule with AP classes.

UVa strongly recommends taking two subject tests and when collegeboard sends your subject test scores, your SAT scores show up as well. So, on one page, your SAT results from Nov and Jan would show up below your Subject test scores from March. (I made those dates up.) And I would strongly encourage you to take those subject tests since UVA strongly wants them. And following that train of thought, I would study hard and retake the SATs. To be quite honest, nothing about you sticks out from the information you put down here for an OOS student. Even if you were an instate student, your stats seem weak. Try to improve the easy stuff (like SATs.)
